Meldrath the Malignant dead to MLF (Feb. 26, 2009)

It wasn't quite the rumble in the jungle, or the thrilla in Manila, but the intermediate completion of the expansion in the Mansion(TM) was no less exciting. (Really? You think you've got a better rhyme for Mansion?)

The War Council worked day and night to hone our super secret strat (TM), applying six sigma and all known best practices until we hit upon a winning formula through precision triangulation:




After correcting several, err, execution issues.....



we buzzkilled the buzzkills and put an end to Meldrath's malignancy.

Tactical Prototype XXVII dead to MLF (Feb. 23, 2009)

With Tinkerson dead, we opted to take the traditional approach in preparing for Prototype - with cheesy 80s movie clips!



Newly invigorated by the WOPRs challenge, we tasked our best and brightest (i.e., sober) players with mastering the chessboards. Krrak applied his years of chess experience in deftly maneuvering the pawns to their proper places. Batmonk - he brought an edgy but no less effective approach to the game:



After getting the chessboards under control, we turned our attention to beating down Prototype. We diligently chipped away at his health, easing up only when he turned agggressive:



(Yes - we are taking applications for a new staff photographer position, but on the plus side, I do think our sketch artist is coming along quite nicely.)

When the dust settled, Proto fared no better than Tinker before him:



Meldrath then extended us a warm welcome, typos and all...

[Mon Feb 23 21:07:43 2009] Meldrath the Malignant shouts 'Well, if you're quit done making all that noise, why don't you come into my laboratory and we can talk about how each of you would like your animated corpses to be dressed.'

Thynian took him at his word and, well, this wouldn't have been my first choice:



It did, however, seem to distract Meldrath, as we took him down to 6% on our first attempt. Yes, the bell tolls for thee Meldrath....

Seneschal Barangle Tinkerson dead to MLF (Feb. 18, 2009)

Here's a pic of us dancing on Tinkerson's grave, except....



yah, he pulled a fast one on us and muttered some legal mumbo-jumbo about us needing to pay a royalty and sign a license agreement before we'd be allowed to post pictures of his corpse. Then his lawyers sent us a cease and desist lettter, we sent back a dead fish, things went south from there and, well, now it's tied up in the courts.

If you can't use your imagination though, the fight looked shockingly similar to this:

And, is it just me, or is anyone else reminded of this exchange whenever we talk about Tinker?

Dr.Hibbert: Homer, I'm afraid you'll have to undergo a coronary bypass operation.

Homer: Spare me your medical mumbo-jumbo.
Dr. Hibbert: We're going to cut you open and tinker with your ticker.

Dr. Brinda Sprockets dead to MLF (Feb. 9, 2009)

This was our first attempt at taking on a member of the medical establishment. We knew we had to have our game-faces ready.



We had questions aplenty. Would she honor our medical insurance? How big were her co-pays? Where, in fact, did she get her degree? (No diplomas on the walls made us leery.)

After much discussion, we finally went with the Tom & Jerry strategy and decided to distract her with....



yes - our own height challenged, opposite-sex evil doctor! He kept her occupied while we made off with enough tongue depressors and Vicodin refills to get us through the next Breakneck clearing. Three cheers for free prescription drugs!

Krond the Longhorn dead to MLF (Feb. 8, 2009)

Once again, we consulted our super secret strat guide (TM) for clues on how to beat the event:



After a heated debate in which Lazorx finally conceded that a henchotaur was not part of the female anatomy, we put Krond out to stud on our first attempt.
