The Birth of Liamwhiteblaze

Ok forgive me this is my first attempt at anything like this. Btw it will not be short.

It was an extremely damp and foggy morning in Kelethin when Avariel Moonshadow went out to collect the dew for her husband's forge. She began to hum a little tune to help pass the time and completely forgot where she was. She had strayed dangerously close to the home of the Crishbone orcs. Suddenly a twig snapped behind her startling her back to her senses. Alas it was too late she had been found, but not by orcs by a band of 5 rather large humans. They took her away to a cave near by in an attempt to gain some information on a matter most urgent to their master.

When his wife did not return Arthis Moonshadow became very worried. He began his search for his love at once. Shortly their after he found her trail, and became very worried at where it seemed to be leading him. Upon discovering the spot where his wife had been ambushed he became enraged. So instead of doing the wise thing he immediately rushed to try to save her. He approached the cave with all the caution that and stealth he had in his body. Unfortunately these were no ordinary humans that he had been tracking there were agents of the foul god Innoruuk, and they were aware of his coming. Just as he was about to make his attempt at his rescue they sprang their trap. He put up a valiant effort, but alas it was not enough and he was quickly overcome. The elves soon noticed one of their prominent families missing, and a search began immediately. They soon found the cave and the body of the once great hero turned master smith, but alas no sign of the evil that caused this or his wife could be found.

As soon as the members of Innoruuk’s ghastly cult had finished partaking in the murder of the once proud hero they immediately began to chant as one and were transported to an area not far away but well protected by their masters magic. They soon discovered the pitiful elf held none of the knowledge of the things their master was seeking. However while she held no knowledge of what they were looking for she still was useful to them in one way.

For the next 2 years they held her in their prison, and every so often she would attempt to escape only to be captured again. Soon after her capture however she became aware that she was with child. Once she became aware of this she also had a feeling that someone or something was watching over her, and her new child. As the time drew near for her child to be born she knew she desperately needed to escape, or her child would become a sacrifice to her captor’s foul god.

One day her captor’s left as they always did, but did not return that evening as they had before. She decided if they had not returned by the morning she would try to escape for the last time. Since that morning she had gone into labor. She did not know that when they had left that morning that they did not plan on coming back and had covered their layer with many spells to ward off people attempting to enter or leave it.

As soon as the first rays of sunlight she made her last desperate attempt at escape in attempt to save her child’s life at the very least. As soon as she set foot past the exit of their layer she was assaulted by all types of magic. Her feet moved slower, she became sick, she was covered in a rain of fire, and chilled to the bone. She would not let this stop her she must get her baby to safety. After going a few hundred yards she could go no further the pain from the labor, and the assault of magic had weakened her too much. She collapsed at the base of a dead tree while uttering a prayer to Tanure to save her child knowing she was about to die. She then closed her eyes and made ready to meet her husband, and hoped it would only be her husband and not their child waiting for her.

She died then not knowing that her child was not one of love and family, but one of hate and circumstance. As soon as her soul had passed from her body a great white wolf appeared in front of her to ensure that final prayer of one of her faithful followers was answered. Taking the newborn babe gently in her mouth she gently placed him a short distance away while she saw to his mother. Gently placing her paw on the chest of the great elf maiden she uttered a word and her body was absorbed into the tree. The tree
at once came into full bloom, and tripled in size to become one of the largest trees in the forest. Avariel’s tree stands to this day always green no matter the season, and untouched by any blade. Since none have been able to even attempt to swing at the symbol of a mothers love. Many have tried, but as soon as they begin to heft the axe to swing it suddenly feels as though it weighs as much as the tree itself.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp
Many of you are wondering what happened to the child. Well as soon as Tunare had seen to the mother she brought the child to her home, and commanded that the child be taken care of until she could find a suitable mother. They said what shall we call this child mother? She said his name is Liam, Liamwhiteblaze he shall be The Light In The Dark for all who see and know him watch him well for I feel he will do great things for us some day. She began at one looking for a mother who would care for him, and teach him the things he would do one day. She returned a short time later and called for the child to be brought to her. She smiled on seeing the newborn babe, and once again was struck with an overwhelming that this child was going to do great things during his life. She blessed the child with health so he would never become sick or weak, and the knowledge of what had happened to his parents. She then kissed him on the forehead, and the child was gone safely to his new home and mother. Once he was gone she simply said never forget, and smiled remembering the feeling she had when she looked upon him.

To be continued . . .

Wow that was a bit longer then I expected, but I like it and hope you do as well.

<img src="http://www.eqfaces.com/photos2/liamwhit ...

<a HREF="http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.h ... In giving it, you will accumulate a deposit of joy greater than you ever believed possible.
