Story of a Knighting---a Spoof

Postby Flintrok » Wed Sep 18, 2002 10:07 am

Another time...another place.....

Flintrok Ironforge walk out of the woods and on to the o-so familiar path which led up to his home.
"It will be good to be home for a while" thought Flintrok.
He had been on many a quest with friends to slay many a foe and defend many of the innocent, it would be good to get some rest.
As he entered the clearing to his home he saw 2 well armored, very shiney, men with very well cared for horses waiting outside his home. Their garb was that of the kings court.
"Hail strangers" stated Flintrok. "Be ye lost?"
The main to the left addressed Flintrok first. He had something very familiar about him, but Flint could not place it.
"Be ye Flintrok Ironforge, savior of Halas, renound dwarven warrior?"
"I be Flintrok, but i be more than a warrior. What can i help you gentleman with?" stated Flint while still trying to figure out why this human was familiar
The human paused to look at Flint's appearance...battle scared armor, bulging backpack, brilliant runed sword. Then he extended a salute to Flintrok...
"I am King Arthur, this is my senior Knight and friend Sir Lancelot. We have come far to find you and ask something of u."
with a salute, "My lord, forgive me. I had not recognized u in ceremonial armor." "Well met Sir Lancelot. It is not often we receive royal guests in the butcherblock mountains."
"Ask milord, what is it i can do for u?"
Arthur spoke with a smile, "Flintrok, your reputaion has reached all across Camelot. The stories of a dwarven hero ring thru the songs of bards and many a child want to be the great Flintrok."
Blushing, "thank u milord, i am sure the stories are over exaggerated"
Clanking around as he walks "Be that it may, but i could use a man, er um dwarf, of your skills in my guard."
"Milord!? Me, i am but a humble dwarf fighting with the honor that Brell has blessed me with. there has never been a dwarven knight in your service."
Arthur and Lancelot began to shift uncomfortably and glance at each other.
"Well sir dwarf", started Lancelot
"It would not be as a knight, Flintrok", continued Arthur
"well what is it that u mean" stated a bewildered Flint
"You would be a squire to sir Lancelot, my best knight. He is in need of a squire with some skils"
Flints face began to turn beat red, his hand rubbing his beard, he whispered a quick prayer to brell to keep him from losing his temper..
"Milord no disrespect intended but..a squire? Flintrok Ironforge, slayer of dragons, destroyer of giants, savior of Halas, hero of thugadin, son of kaladim and mighty paladin of brell, a squire?!!! Surely u jest?!"
"I can understand how u feel Flintrok but u must understand, u have no formal traing from Camelot" began Arthur
Lancelot continued, "Once u get some training under your belt and we formalize your skills who knows, u may be a knight some day." With a grin "U didnt even recognize our Kings armor as Battle armor"
"SOME DAY?! Boy i have been a holy warrior since before your great-grandfather was born!" Leaving an icy stare at Lancelot and turning to Arthur, "milord my culture is different. In my culture what u wear is far from battle armor, it is more pomp and circumstance."
"This is insulting to my ears" started Lancelot walking toward Flint "i will not let you insult my king in this way!"
Arthur held out a hand, "Calm yourself Lancelot. I am sure the intention was not to insult. I believe we have insulted Flintrok instead"
"Milord" began Flintrok losing his temper, "You are correct on both accounts, and u may want to tell your pretty knight to stand down"
"Enough!!! We settle this insult now" stated Lancelot as he drew his sword
Flintrok turned to Arthur, "Milord may i teach your youngin a lesson?"
"Flintrok, Lancelot is my best knight. I feel you may have bit off more than u can chew"
"Hehehe, somehow milord, i doubt it"
Watching flint lay his helm on the ground, Lancelot states, "Put your helm on dwarf, let us settle this!"
Grinning from ear to ear, "I dont even need armor, let alone my helm...just call it an advantage for u"

With that last, Flintrok drew his sword and began to kick Sir Lancelot's green-con arse !!!!!

3 minutes later...
"Do you yield Sir Lancelot?"
"Aye i yield Sir Flintrok, my most sincere apologies."

After healing Lancelot with a wave of his hand Flintrok turned to Arthur whose mouth was still gaping open and whose eyes were huge..."Milord are u ok?"
"My word!! i have never seen anything like that before. That was incredible! What were we thinking? Please forgive our ignorance"
"There is nothing to forgive" smiled Flintrok

Without hesitation Arthur scampered to his horse...

Removing a beautiful blade from its sheath, King arthur tapped the shoulders of Flintrok
"I dub thee Sir Flintrok Ironforge, Knight of the realm!"

/ooc well i got bored at work and figured i would tell a story
Flintrok Ironforge
55 Knight of Brell
Proud Guild Leader
Mysitical Lightfighters
-=Current Profile=-
Member of The Mystical Alliance
