I have an Elaborate Stalwart BP, but my Aug is crap

Trying to figure out the upgrade path for my BP, and frankly I get a headache reading about all the frickin augs and nerfs to augs, so I am relying on fellow guildees to point me in the right direction. I have never bid on a Bazu or a LB drop. I remember being told way back when that they would cost 300k or so (Grolits said this, so it has been awhile.) I didn't have that kind of cash. But, a little bit ago, it was mentioned that the item that is expensive the AAAA is for sale by the guild for something in the neighborhood of 50k. That I can afford. So, I am thinking of doing just that.

I don't know how I can help with this, I have done the Belfast and more Belfast quest lines, if that can help in any way. I can also pharm any components that will be needed like the bolts and such. Plz advise... Thanks.

Ok, this is what you'll need - the Ambleshift's Amazing Automated Amalgamator.

That link has a list of all the items that go into making the AAAA. From what I remember the big pain in the neck is the Shadowmane Pelt. They seem to be a little more frequent of a drop in Dread Spire Keep and Demi-Plane then anywhere else (although it can drop off Shadowmane's in Stoneroot Falls).

I think Blabb is inquiring about purchasing one Durdaen.

The guild sells AAAA's to guildies that will be using them (and obviously not for resale) for a very steep discounted price of 50k. This is thanks to the efforts of a number of guildies that have helped collect the tradeskill pieces needed to make the AAAAs, as well as spending the time tradeskilling and developing the tools needed to make the AAAAs.

If you win a Bazu aug or a Last Blood aug and are looking to buy the AAAA in which to do the combine and make the aug, contact Jorrell. I think we still have about 5-6 banked for guildies.

There are a few other pieces (bazu seal or last blood seal; epicthieck's lubricating goo) you will need to make the aug combine Blabb (the combine is no fail), but we usually have a supply of those pieces available for free in the guild bank. That is, except for the mechanoinstructions. Depending on which focus you want on your aug (e.g., dodge, parry, spell haste, etc.), you'll need to pick up the specific mechanoinstructions that will be used in the combine to give your aug that focus. Those mechanoinstructions are available in the bazaar, and usually run about 50-60k.

The Mechanoinstruction prices should be coming way down. They seem to drop a lot in the new SoF zones like the fortress.

Yes, the mechanotablets drop quite regularly in the new SoF zones (particularly those with clockwork type models), and you can usually find some for sale on the GL and GH merchants.
In addition, I have quite a few of the tablets (which can be converted into instructions via a research combine) stashed away on alts. If you decide which focus you want, I can see if I have a tablet stored away (same is true for anyone else-- since they don't stack, I haven't dumped the 'prize ones' like cleave, dodge, and parry into the banker). I haven't converted all the tablets I have to instructions because a) there are some that I just don't think people will want, b) the ink components (particularly dreadspire gargoyle dust) are a bit rare (at least in comparison to the number of tablets I have stored, lol), and c) I just finished the scrindite's manual quest last night, lol. :D

Research combine for mechanoinstructions:
mechanotablet of choice
instruction parchment (made by baking, 276 triv)
Scrindite's Instruction Ink (made by brewing, 252 triv)
Scrindite's Mechanoinstruction Manual (quested, int casters only for the manual combine)
combined in Scrindite's Mechanoinstruction Holepoker (tinkered, 404 triv, and I don't have one...yet ;) But there are other guildies who do. )

Eweni,

There is a Scrindite's Mechanoinstruction Holepoker in the guild bank...

I removed a bunch of the tablets from the guild bank, because they were clogging it up, and have them parked on a mule. Since there are so many in circulation now, I am keeping only three copies of each. If anyone needs a specific one, please let me know.

Shadowmane Pelts are the rare item these days for the AAAA. In addition to dropping in DSK, Demiplane and during Shyra raids, they can also be farmed in Stoneroot from the Shadowmane near the entrance to DSK. Solo, I averaged about one per hour when I farmed some of these.

My tinker/researcher can make the AAAA as well as make the instructions.

The rare item for the Instruction Parchment is Witheran Bile which surprisingly drops off witherans in DoDH.

There are two rare items for the Instruction Ink. The Dreadspire Gargoyle Dust does drop off gargoyles in DoDH. The other item is Darkmatter Dust. This is foraged in GoD zones.

The Lubricating Goo requires Dragon Eggs. They are foraged in WW and ToV.

As far as I know, the guild is perilously short of the Witheran Bile, Darkmatter Dust and Dragon Eggs.

Eweni, my tinker can make you a Holepoker. All I need is two Shadowmane Pelts as I have, or can easily get, the other items.

Perfect, a shopping list for the stuff we need. I will do what I can to see if I can get my hands on these things. I am thinking 'Healing' Focus. BD went with 'Healing' and he's a 'fart smeller'!

Looking to buy one of the AAAA for 50k. Picked up the bazu stone on raid.

As for the effect you choose, it's a completely personal choice-- what works for BD with his gear, might not be the best choice for you. The Bazu healing focus is 40% at 70 (LB% is 50%), and they decay above that (20/25ish at 80). If you get your hands on a 30% healing focus set at lvl 80, you come out ahead. (Pendant of the Stoic (off named in DSH)) Personally, I chose the dodge 3 mod because I knew I wouldn't be getting it on the Demi silk helm anytime soon, but dodge would have been a waste for me if I'd already had the helm....the best choice for you likely depends on what gear you have and what makes your short list of 'most needed upgrades'. :D

J and Baldary,

Thank you both for the holepoker offers. At some point, I'll likely end up taking one of you up on them. I've taken my sweet time with finishing the research quest and my skill is still far enough off the triv at this point that I'd probably defer on combines for anyone else. Mostly, I mentioned I don't have the holepoker so that folks don't expect me to do the conversion just because I have a stash of tablets and some research skill, lol. ;)

Ok I am getting my simple mind wrapped around this and just to confirm what I THINK I know:

Elaborate < Elegant ARMOR
Exalted < Sublime SYMBOLS
And any Tailor, Leatherworker, or Blacksmith can make ANY Race, Diety, Class?

Items of note for these are Spinnerette Fluids, Silks, Animal Pelts, Loams.... did I miss anything?

Quests must be completed in order to make the symbols and are diety based - not race based (i.e. there is no race restriction to making symbols). Cultural armor is race based and can only be made by smiths and tailors of that same race.

I think I have a pile of darkmatter dust floating around in one of my banks.... I'll have a look-see.

If by "<" you mean upgrade, that's correct. For symbols, I think anyone that has completed the Sublime symbol quest can make any Symbol for any race, deity or class, although the fail rate is always relatively high due to the combines not being trivial. But for the armor, you need to find someone who can smithe armor for your race.

As for what's needed for what, for the elegant armor, the big piece you need is the Porous Loam, and then some smaller components. For the sublime aug, you can use any of the following sets of components to make your aug:

1) Exquisite Spinneret Fluid/2 x Exquisite Silk/Mythical Filament (Vendor bought)/Blessed Water of [Name of your Deity] (Vendor bought); OR

2) Exquisite Marrow/Exquisite Animal Pelt/Mythical Filament (Vendor bought)/Blessed Water of [Name of your Deity] (Vendor bought); OR

3) Porous Loam/Tantalum Ore/Mythical Filament/Bituminous Coal (Vendor Bought)/Blessed Water of [Name of your Deity] (Vendor bought)
