Guild Update - Its Been a Good Week

With our front page still in the works, I thought I'd give a quick update for anyone that stops by to check out our message boards.

It seems like we've been grinding out levels and new AA's for quite a long time now since the release of Secrets of Faydwer, but it hasn't gone to waste. This week MLF added two more events to the farm list in Demiplane of Blood: Wailing Sisters and Hatchet.

Great job MLF!

And now, you need to level me.

SNAP TO IT!

The mighty? I'm pretty sure a mage pet could take you out (not that that's any different than 3 years ago...)

You speak lies with your forked tongue! I shall achieve level 80, and make you rue your words.

Actually, I'm thinking about trying a different class. No idea if Wizards are still the whipping boys of EQ. What's the word, Sind?

Wizards are definitely better than what you'll remember, that's for sure. If you had played during the height of TSS with the insta-cast nukes you would have been happy. They nerfed them this fall, but I think wizards are still pretty good DPS and more fun to play than they used to be, with better concussions, better harvests, etc. I think mages have gotten more recent improvements than wizards though to push them beyond them from a dps perspective. But there's some decent kiting to be had for wizards.

The fact of the matter is though, nothing is better than a warrior. :P

Decisions, decisions.

I'm going to be starting primarily on weekends (including Fridays), so hrm. Is soloing a more viable option now? My Wizard is 70, my mage is like 38, and I don't know if it would be absolutely pointless to try to catch up by levelling the Mage.

Any input will be welcome. Or "velcome," if you happen to be a vampire.

These days, "catching up" can be done in perhaps the fastest timetable ever, particularly with help from those around you. The changes in available gear, more zones to hunt in, better buffs, and all the rest, will make it a game you almost don't recognize (as will some new faces).

IMO, the key is to find a class you have fun playing, and the rest will fall into place. ;)

Good to see you back...it's been a long time. :D

I can attest to that. I came back about a week ago as lvl 71, I've almost got my CoA done and I've gained 2 levels in that time, even have a Dreadspire access quest done. And I've only had maybe 3 1/2 full days of playing IN that week so...it's definately doable. Welcome back Issy, have missed ya bud!

In the last 8 or 9 days playing my druid, I managed to get him from 53 to 65 with 5 AA's. So yeah, it is doable :P Course, I was boxing my cleric and had druid in group while cleric tore through Veksar, then HoH. Need to stop doing that, pretty sure it's messing up my (already shitty) video card.
