Techy help if possible

Hey everyone,
Frost here taking over Kib's personality for a sec. I have a tech question I was wondering if anyone could answer. We live in an apartment with few phone outlets. I put in a two-way splitter into one phone jack to have a cord to computer and one to phone. Now we have satellite service and I hooked up a 3 way splitter but we noticed a huge slowdown in internet speed and then we decided to try a direct line from comp modem into phone jack and it was even faster than with the two way splitter.
Long and short is that I am wondering if a wireless phone jack would be our best bet. Thinking of hooking the satellite receiver and telephone up to the wireless phone jack receiver and the internet into the base unit Anyone familiar with these items or know if the internet connection will still be split/slow? Any advice is greatly appreciated! We have a DSL connection atm. TYTY in advance!
