God was missing for six days. Eventually, Michael, the archangel, found him
resting on the seventh day.

He inquired, "Where have you been?"

God smiled deeply and proudly pointed downwards through the
clouds, "Look, Michael. Look what I've made."

Archangel Michael looked puzzled, and said, "What is it?"

"It's a planet," replied God, and I've put life on it.. I'm
going to call it Earth and it's going to be a place to test Balance."

"Balance?" inquired Michael, "I'm still confused."

God explained, pointing to different parts of earth. "For
example, northern Europe will be a place of great opportunity and wealth,
while southern Europe is going to be poor. Over here I've placed a continent of
white people, and over there is a continent of black people. Balance in all
things."

God continued pointing to different countries. "This one
will be extremely hot, while this one will be very cold and covered in ice."

The Archangel, impressed by God's work, pointed to a land
area & said, "What's that?"

"That's the State of Texas , the most glorious place on
earth. There are beautiful rivers, mountains, streams, lakes, forests, hills,
beaches and plains. The people from the State of Texas are going to be
handsome, modest, intelligent, humorous, and they are going to travel the
world. They will be extremely sociable, hardworking, high achieving, carriers
of peace, and producers of good things."
Michael gasped in wonder and admiration, but then asked,
"But what about balance, God? You said there would be balance."

God smiled, "There's Washington DC . Wait till you see the
idiots I put there.”

Then on the 8th day, he made confusion, and now so many people believe in different religions.

If so, they haven't lived here and loved it like most Texans do. sure there are some that don't like it, but the borders are still open to the other connecting states, so we're not holding em here. Nope.

Scraggly little trees?? LOL we have tall oak trees, lots of pines.. I live in the NE part of the state in the area they call the piney woods. Tons of lakes, both natural and man-made. It's hot and humid from early June to late September... btw there are days with low humidity, but the rest of the year is very pleasant. pleasant spring and fall, mild winters, yes, hot summers but we find ways to keep cool just as the yankees find ways to keep warm in the winter. The people in this area are very laid back, hard working, ordinary folks.. no big egos.. those are the oil people and upper crust which I am NOT.

When we moved into our home, we had a house on a half acre of dirt.. no plants, no trees. We planted oaks as we wanted good shade trees. We have 5 tall oaks.. the biggest is over 60 feet.. smallest is over 40 ft. In the summer, our entire front yard and driveway is completely shaded as is the back yard for about 50' behind the house. If there is a breeze, even on the hottest day it's not bad in the shade.

Yes, I love living in Texas. It's home for me and my transplanted yankee hubby who is so glad he moved down here and got away from the frigid cold winters in Ohio.
