Thursday Night

Post by Migraine »

I just remembered I have a Memory Walk meeting tonight.

Hmm-- ok I know I am gonna get comments on that. Heh. I work for a county based Senior Services program, and one of the annual events we co-sponsor is the Alzheimer's Memory Walk, a fund raising event for the Alzheimer's Association. The walk was this Saturday. As a member of the Steering Committee and host of the meetings- hmm, they expect me to be here. Usually lasts until 8PM. By the time I get home, I am ready for a drink, bed,, food- not necessarily in that order. Plus tomorrow is our monthly staff meeting which lasts at least 3 hours. Please shoot me now- wish I could forget that one.

It was a nice event-- we had about 350 walkers. And it was held at Six Flags over GA. People who raised at least $50 were given passes to 6 Flags for the rest of the month (Fright Fest) It was a gorgeous day--once the sun came up. I was there at 6AM and it was dark and chilly and the coffee wasn't ready yet ! Our group has raised over $60K up to now, and we are one of about 6 around Metro Atlanta area and North GA.
The slogan is:

Help us make Alzheimer's just a memory-

Ergo- Memory Walk.
