How to

Post by Migraine »

Is the only way to insert a pix - to have in Photobucket, Shutterfly or something? Didn't seem to be a way to actually insert a picture of a smaller size?

I have a Photobucket account but truly loathe them and their tactics. Only stillhave it because I got snookered into their scheme of auto renewal unless you tell them where to go.

Would like to share a couple of pix with old friends that don't linger at the old site anymore

Thanks
Mig

The only way you can get around using an online site for posting pics - is to have webspace of your own (in other words it needs to have a web address for access) and post there then use the URL of the pictures as the active link.

Several web companies still include web page access in their internet package, you can check and see if yours does and follow their procedure to set it up.

Thanks for the quick response. Bellsouth/AT&T might have that, but have never looked for it. ALways have those crooks at Photobucket...

You can try an upload to the MLF Member gallery here:

http://mysticallightfighters.com/gallery/index.php (Gallery link above). Login and password are the same as for DKP.

NB: Pictures are publicly viewable. Consider the Gallery uploads a trial with no guarantee of continuing. I don't want to jeopardize our hosting limits etc just for pretty pictures :) Also, please only upload MLF-related material. We don't want to be hosting your alt's sig ;)

When linking pictures on the boards, use only the "Normal" size so as to not throw off the layout of the page. You can right click a "Normal" sized photo to get the url, it should lok something like this:

Code: Select all

http://mysticallightfighters.com/gallery/albums/oldmlf/normal_Jeol.jpg
and look when put in 'img' tags, should come out like this:

There may still be some permissions that need tweaking to ake it all work, so let me know if you encounter any difficulties.
