I'm an only child, but family is what matters to me more than my job, money or where I would like to live. I've been asked to relocate three times by my boss, and he's been turned down three times because I won't leave family behind.

My sister and I are a two years apart and practically hated each other as teenagers. We even got into a few fistfights, but now, we're very close.

Through thick and thin, families always remain. Other people in your life come and go, as I've learned over the last few years, but my family is the one thing that remains constant.

Think they're very important. Would have disagreed with that statement growing up with em...but as an adult aye...family > all.

P.S. I have 3 brothers and 2 sisters...I'm the oldest

I'm an only child also. But like J stated, family is more important than anything. If I ever chose to relocate I know my moms sisters would kill me if I didn't live near them, hehe. Anywhere I do reclocate will still be near family.

I've deleted my post on this thread like 5 times....

I care about my dad, and my sister, and wish them no ill will. But I try to spend as little time around them as I can - they drive me batty.

If not for my mother, I really would have no reason to stay where I am now... but I couldn't leave my mom to fend for herself.

My family are all very independant from each other, living their own lives I guess. But I suspect it's the fact that we're so confident in our closeness that allows us to be like that...we talk irregularly but when we do we make it count. We also try to make sure we don't take each other for granted and try to make a point of saying those little things to each other that people usually assume go without saying. I'm a big believer in the idea that sometimes when something 'goes without saying' it should be said anyway. There is nothing I wouldn't do for my family, nor they for me.

I never knew what it was like to grow up with my dad in our home. I was raised by my mom on her own. I have a brother and a sister.
My sister has the ablility to drive me crazy but i wouldnt trade her for the world. She was there for me when i was sick after my first child. And even though she is crazy i love her. My mom was my best friend until i met my husband. She is my support line when i need it and will always be there for me. My brother is a slob and his life is messed up but we still talk and he will always be my brother.

I am also very fortunate that I love my husbands family dearly. I find it difficult when they are all in the same house but they are always there for us and that is what matters.

I am also fortunate to have a home away from home with my friends in Everquest. They give me a sounding board when life gets me down and they make me laugh when i feel like crying.

Life is Good

My family in general are important to me. Though my sister drove me crazy in her teen years, we have always been close and no matter what I know we will always be great friends to each other.

My brother and I almost killed each other several times when we were teenagers. Now that we're adults we get along great.

Well, except when we play Madden Football or ping pong.
