Ruante Angelpsalm

Ruante Angelpsalm, the story of her beggining, and a nod to my favorite druid.

Many moons ago there lived a fair maiden whose name alone struck joy into ones very soul. No matter the location, nor situation, her smile would always shine like a beam of heavenly light through the pitch of night. Her beauty did not end there. Famous was she for her warm embrace, her **hugs**. Like celestial warmth, her soul surrounded thee, and would warm your very being. To say she was the fairest of all Elves would not do justice to her kind soul, loving heart, and wondrous form. Nature itself bowed to her beauty. Grass and flowers, of magnificent colors would spring forth with every step she took. The shades of the leaves would shimmer in joy as she passed them. Who is she you ask? Well none other than Jeanine Angelwings.

For many seasons she graced the Mystical Lightfighter family. Her love for the Mystical Lightfighter family could be felt through out the lands. Her actions and good deeds brought glory and honor to the family. Every member of Mystical Lightfighters was proud to have such a lady in our midst. Every **hug** she gave would serve to strengthen our family bonds. Mystical Lightfighters loved Jeanine Angelwings.

One day the winds of Destiny changed directions, and blew over Jeanine. She realized that she had done all she could for her family. Mystical Lightfighters was strong of heart, and capable of spreading her love and compassion to all the lands. She knew what had to happen. It was time for her to begin anew. Destiny had shown her that she was needed elsewhere. She still had much work ahead of her, before her purpose on this world would be finished. So with a heavy heart Mystical Lightfighters said farewell to Jeanine as she went to a new family who needed her **hugs**. It was not easy for Mystical Lightfighters to see her go. From the smallest of Gnomes, to the strongest of Paladins, and the scaliest of necromancer shed a tear upon her departure. At least one member cried a river of sadness that day. How do I know this you wonder? The answer is simple I was that person. I am Kuwe, Son of Kainin, Disciple of Brell Serillis. The winds of destiny blew over me that day too.

The day Jeanine left I needed to understand why. So I prayed to Brell, and some mystical force swept me to my temple in Kaladim. I knelt by the reflecting pool and pondered my loss. I sat for a while, and I unstrapped my boots. I allowed my feet to soak in the cooled water. As I wiggled my toes ripples were sent out across the pool. As each ripple subsided so did my pain. My reflection became clear in the pool, and it was at that moment I understood why she had to move one. So I moved out from the Underfoot and emerged into the sun warm mountains.

I felt the beams of light warm my face, and the thin blades of grass underneath my feet. With my eyes closed I focused my direction sense and I walked over the hills and mountains. Passing through the valley of the Great Butcher Block, on my way to the Great Forest in the South, I could feel a light breeze blowing on my back.

Suddenly the breeze turned to a strong gust. The winds blew all around. Just as fast it swelled up, it went away. An unnatural clam came over the mountainside. No winds, no birds flying by, not even a scurrying beetle could I sense.

WHACK!
I came to a stop. My eyes flashed open. So deep in thought was I that I missed the foul stench of Corflunk, the vile Ogre that terrorizes travelers. A male and female Elf was standing toe to toe with him. The Elves' quarterstaffs were twirling about them at great speeds. The two worked in harmony; a definite unison could be seen in their moves and attacks. They blocked as many of Corfluk's attacks as possible, but his brute strength though was overpowering them. To make matters worse a vile green goblin ran to Corflunk's aid.

Unflinching I drew my scepter and adorned my shield while running into the fray. As I drew near the Elves I could sense panic and fear. I did not understand since they were covered in an aura of magical speed. Why they just did not flee was beyond me, but I had no time to ask. With a Dwarven tumble I rolled into the Goblin, bashing it back with my shield. I snapped my head about and faced Corflunk. I shouted out Mithaniel Marrs name, for the sound of it created a force that can knock back even the strongest of foes. I alone could not fight on both sides, and I knew Corflunk was too much for the Elves, so I focused on the foul Ogre. His evil deeds could not go unpunished so with the wrath of god I stuck a mighty blow to the Ogre.

The weary Elves had little strength to fight, but with honor I thought only Dwarves possessed they stood their ground. Unfortunately my focus on Corflunk allowed the Goblin to produce a vile stench. Having been exposed to it so many times before the noxious cloud did not affect me. The young Elves though were not so fortunate, and were diseased by the fumes.

With Corflunk nearly beaten I knew all I needed was one might blow and the battle could be won. So instinctively I began a prayer to Brell, " Duke of Below, I beg of thee for the power of the earth. May it tremor with your might!" Instantly the ground swelled up and shook violently, sending mounds of earth into the air. The ground threw the Ogre and Goblin to the ground. "For the Glory of Kaladim!" I yelled in triumph.

Then my mind flashed, pulling me back to the here and now, away from my victory pride. The Elves, I must tend to them. With hands outstretched I reached down to their bodies. Blue strands of divine light flowed through my arms to their bodies. I looked at their wounds, but to my surprise they did not heal. How could this be, I wondered. I checked more closely, and found the cause. They had not survived the infection caused by the Goblin's foul fumes. I was to late.

I failed them. My foolish thirst for battle and glory distracted me from my true purpose. I had mourned enough this day; I knew I had but precious moments to correct this. I may still save them. I sparked incense and created a mystical sanctuary keeping all with in at peace. I then went into a deep chant. I drew in as much energy as I could muster, and I cast my soul in to the Astral Plane. Five silver strands, cords that bind your body to your spirit, stood before me. One was my own, without it I could be lost forever to wander the Astral Plane. One cord was covered with a green slime. It had to be that of the diseased Goblin. Another was dull, and cold to the touch. This was the Ogre's whose stone heart was dull and cold. The last two were intertwined, and glowed with and aura of peace and love. I took hold of the Goblin and Ogre's cords, bound them together and cast them into the depths of the plane so that they could never be recovered. I then took hold of the Elven cords I drew them back following my silver strand. I was about to reach the threshold into the physical plane when I was pulled up like a child's toy yo-yo. With a single jerk the Elven cords, with me along with it, were pulled straight to the heavens. I held tight for I could not fail them again. In a flash of light I was stunned and blinded. When I came to I found myself before a glorious wonder. The "Mother of All" had summoned me. Nature and life flowed from her. I saw in her hands the two strands I had just been clinging to.

I knelt before Tunare in reverence. Then she spoke saying in a voice as pretty as song, " You can not have these two. To return them to life would be a curse, for they are true lovers and loving parents. Where I will send them for there devotion to each other will be far greater than where you would return them to."

I stood and spoke, " Mother of All, I have to save them. How else can I correct my failure to them?"

"Kuwe" she said, "you fought valiantly, and with honor. You did not fail, you are merely beginning. Now return and find why they did not flee. Why their acts have destined them to remain with me."

With a thunderous bolt of energy my soul was transported back to the physical realm and back to my body. I opened my eyes and I found the greatest surprise in my life. A Wood Elf child lay before me. I took my cloak and wrapped her up. Instantly the winds blew over me and the birds began to sing. I knew right away that she would be gifted with the ability to sing. Nature was already teaching her the melody.

As I walked back to Kaladim to get the supplies I would need I started thinking of names for this child. Since she was a gift from Tunare, I felt what better way to thank her than to use her name. I also knew that this child would bring love and compassion to all who heard her song. I knew of only one other person with the same ability, Jeanine Angelwings. So I named my Elven child Ruante Angelpsalm. May she sing the psalms of Brell and Tunare; and Spread the same kindness, and compassion that was shown to me by my Angel.

Where ever you are, Thank you Jeanine Angelwings.

-Kuwe

As the languid ripples danced with the light, she felt the presence of someone she knew very well nearby. A friend.. a stout, kindred friend of the kindest order... Kuwe!

She felt her mother speaking to her, calling to her. She was to go to the forest and be a witness.

With a flash of light, she appeared in the spot where two of her bretheren lay.
