Re: Delet Board Cookies?
Well as a matter a fact I did when the boards first came on. Didn't seem to make any difference. What I was looking for was a way to make sure only new post come up. On other boards there is a Mark all Forums read. Does this do the same thing?

Near the top of the message board are two links on the right hand side "mark forums read" and "view new posts". I use them all the time.

Are we looking at the same window? In upper right corner is View unanswered posts, View Active Topics, View new posts, View your posts.
I don't see any "mark forums read"
I know this was on the old boards and used it there.

Domi - you can only see it from the main Board Index page. You can't see it if you are in one of the forums.

Cookies are small files stored locally on your computer by websites. When you visit a site again, the cookies can be retrieved. For our boards, I believe the only thing stored in cookies is your login information, if you check the "Log me on automatically each visit" box when logging in. Deleting those cookies means you'll have to log in again next time.
"Logout" should do the same thing, but if you're having trouble with staying logged in or being logged out "Delete All Cookies" might help if a cookie has become corrupt. Your web browser will have an option to do the same thing (though usually for all cookies for all sites at once).

Re: Delet Board Cookies?
I'm sorry for being a pain here BUT, I just marked all forums read and I then hit the View new post. Now you would think that no messages would show up or maybe one or 2 that may have been submitted between the time I marked all Forums read and hit view new post link. I got a list of post going back to 02/03.

Re: Delet Board Cookies?
view new posts means a little different. its not new posts to you, its the newest posts to the board, period.
so if there have been 30 new posts (or whatever number the webpage is programmed to use) over the last 3 days, it will show you all 30 NEW posts to the board. the term new posts in this instance refers to board posts only, not 'new posts i havent read'
when you use the mark forums read button, THEN you can see when a new post has been added since your last visit. thats what i use, and i dont have to sift thru all 30 of the newest posts.
i hope i confused this situation a little...coz i feel more confused as i try and do my explanation
