The graphics are stunning for an online mmo. And yes that is a dude playing golf in the background of the picture of the male toon. They have a mini golf instance inside the game.

Some amazing new things they can do these days, especially with graphics.
But it is game play that will make or break a game.

I agree as well. Hence why I didnt go out to preorder it. Ill let the game go for a while and find the reviews on Fohguild.org. Large enough poster base so usually can find out if its
worth it or not.

I played the game during the beta. It is indeed very good looking (its based on the crysis engine I believe).

It plays nothing like eq. Its very similar to wow except you get the ability to fly very early in the game (level 9-10 is when you get your wings). The game is very grindy in its current state. Money is the biggest thing and having enough cash to keep your gear up to snuff at the beginning is very difficult. I did not get a chance to PVP but that is supposed to be the biggest pull of the game.

I pre-ordered the game when I first saw the screen shots and initial game play; then canceled it after i got a chance to play in the beta. The game just isnt what I was expecting. That being said I know a few people who love it and play like 8 hours a day.

I think I'm on the downside of my gaming career, so starting over elsewhere isn't nearly very appealing to me. I will concede they've got some impressive graphics though.

Not all about pvp, but the endgame focus seems to be on it. I would compare what ive read to how the endgame of DAOC is.

Evidently the top pvpers every week get an ability that turns you into a pvp raid target. Unlocks your divinity or something like that.

Almost makes me want to try it
