After ages of begging, months of hunting for the perfect one, and weeks biting my nails in an on/off/on deal, I finally took ownership of my dream car Friday night. She is a 2002 3.0L BMW Z3 Roadster (under 16,000 miles on her - picked her up for under $20K). Nanny and I have been having an absolute blast cruisin' around in her (she is like a little go-cart). The sun came out today so we took some pictures of "Jet" to share.
And how! I mainly picked her up cuz I absolutely love the body style. The handling and power she packs were honestly a bit of a pleasant surprise even after reading dozens of reviews. Of the 12 people that have gotten behind the wheel (including Nanny and myself) since I got her, every single one stepped out laughing and carrying on like they had just stepped off a wild roller-coaster ride (including a fella who works for me that has an '07 350Z as his baby). "Fun" does not begin to describe the driving experience of this sucker. I could die tomorrow a happy man
Well, no cuz I can't drive a manual for crap, but it's almost a standard -- "Steptronic" -- can change over to switching gears manually, just no clutch to mess with.
But, performance is great for an automatic. Manual transmission for this model was advertised by BMW at 0-60 in 5.9 secs --- automatic at 6.0 secs. She goes through the gears like a hot knife through butter
